The First Friday of Every Month. What better way to start each month, than an evening of jazz at the Opus Concert Café. Offering an eclectic mix of the Corridor’s best jazz soloists and ensembles, each month features a new musical talent and their tribute to the genre that has defied the eras. September features “Ritmo Quinto” 2 Hours of Jazz from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. For only a $15 cover charge, guests can enjoy an evening of hot jazz in the coolest venue in town. Doors open at 4:30 PM and music begins at 5:00 PM. Running a bit late? No worries! Jazz 88.3 KCCK live broadcasts the first hour of every concert. Jazz & Drinks. Friends & Fun. January features “Soul Sacrifice” Soul Sacrifice is a jazz and Latin-influenced band whose members are a literal Who’s-Who of Iowa’s jazz, soul, classical, and rock scenes. The group originally came together as a Santana tribute band but soon expanded to include jazz and soul favorites from artists such as Pat Metheny, Chick Corea, Stanley Clarke, and many more, including the band’s own original compositions. 2 Hours of Jazz from 5:00 – 7:00 pm.
