We’ll be hosting an Open Mic Poetry Night at the Heart House on Friday, November 7th from 6-8pm. Short prose and original songwriting are welcome too.
Come share your writing in a safe and supportive environment, or come just to listen and enjoy the words of others. It’s a magical thing to see people find their voice and be there to cheer them on.
RSVP to claim your spot as a reader.
We ask that, in deciding what to read, you keep it PG-13 and avoid language that puts others down. Consider trigger warnings if you’re unsure, or run it by us. We want to create a welcoming environment for as broad an audience as we can.
This event is free and open to the public, with a suggested $5 donation to
Farmhouse Art Collective.

Over the years we’ve learned how essential it is for artists to have community. We’re at our best when we’re sharing our work, getting feedback from other artists, and finding opportunities to collaborate.
We’re interested in Tree of Liminality + Farmhouse Art Collective being a space for this to happen, and invite you to Art Chat with us on the Second Thursday of the month.
If you’re engaged in a creative process of any kind, such as visual art, creative writing, or performance, bring what you’re working on and we’ll talk about it.
Casual vibe. RSVPs encouraged. We can’t wait to see what you’re making.
This is a free event with a $5 suggested donation to our 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

In this class you’ll learn how to take better photographs using your film or digital SLR camera.
We'll focus on camera controls like aperture and shutter speed, but also touch on composition and finding your subject matter. You’ll have the opportunity to do some practice exercises, get feedback, and have your questions answered in a supportive environment.
For those shooting film, we'll walk you through the different film types and development options, and help you practice loading and rewinding film in your camera.
*Please let us know what camera you're using when you register. If you'd like to learn about them but don't have an SLR, let us know. We may have one available for you to use during class time.
By the end of the class, you’ll have a knowledge base that will help you to take better photographs, and a foundation you can build on for future creative endeavors.
If you’re interested in taking the course, but can’t afford a ticket, there are a limited number of spots available for volunteer assistants. Please contact Missa at [email protected] for more information.
Missa & Marios have taught photography and digital media to a wide range of people, from casual art clubs to college classes. Their photographs have been exhibited throughout the United States and internationally.

In this class you’ll learn how to create your own rubber stamps and make prints with them.
Stamp carving is easy to learn, and a great way to make personalized stationery, textiles, and fine art prints. We’ll provide everything you need and take you step by step through the process from start to finish. Bring your own designs, or choose from some of our favorites (or both!)
The class will cover creating and selecting designs, how to transfer them to a carving block, cutting tools and techniques, basic inking and printing skills, repeating patterns, and ideas for using your stamps.
By the end of the class, you’ll leave with six or more prints, two stamps you’ve carved yourself, and a knowledge base you can build on for future printmaking projects.
If you’d like to use your own designs, please email them to [email protected] or text them to 812-219-6119. You can also bring them to our studio/shop at 1301 3rd Street SE.
If you’re interested in taking the class, but find ticket price to be a barrier, there are a limited number of spots available for volunteer assistants. Please contact Missa by one of the above methods for more information.
Missa has taught 2D art and printmaking to a wide range of people, from casual art clubs to college classes. She is the owner of Tree of Liminality and cofounder of Farmhouse Art Collective.
