  Getting Started in Scottish Family History Research Do you have Scottish ancestors and need resources for researching in either Scotland or after their immigration to Canada or the US? The video of a Roots Tech presentation by David Allen Lambert, Chief Genealogist at American Ancestors, will provide historical background of Scottish immigration, including the impact of “clearances” on immigration. He’ll discuss several resources, including the digital resource, ScotlandsPeople, and both parish and civil records. Was your ancestor’s marriage regular vs irregular? Learn how that determines where to look for a marriage record. The meeting will be via zoom, beginning at 9:30 AM. Non-members wishing to attend must send a request to [email protected] for permission to attend. Those attending are encouraged to print a copy of the handout prior to the meeting.
