In this family-friendly episodic adventure, adults and children alike will enjoy action and adventure, tied together with learning and conversation about what it takes to confront seemingly insurmountable obstacles and learn to thrive in a new environment. On April 16, the Washington auditorium will be filled with students who are invited to a special matinee production of <i>Swiss Family Robinson</i>. Teachers will be given an Imagination Guide, which will also be available on our website, filled with information about the play, activities with curricular connections, and resources for additional learning.</span></span></span></span></span></span></span><br /> </p> <p style="border:none"><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="line-height:normal"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><span style="color:black"><span style="font-size:10.5pt">A Playtime Poppy Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 will be awarded to a Cedar Rapids Community School District high school senior who has demonstrated outstanding academic achievement, commitment to their community, and enthusiastic dedication to theatre. <strong><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">The 2025 Scholarship Application is due April 11, 2025.</span></strong></span></span></span></span></span></p> <p style="border:none"> </p> <p style="border:none"><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="line-height:normal"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><span style="color:black"><span style="font-size:10.5pt">Playtime Poppy Children’s Theatre is also busy bringing their arts-integrated, classroom programs to elementary students in partnership with the Cedar Rapids Community School District. <span style="background:white">Book Adventures, an interactive storytelling program, promotes reading comprehension and prepares younger elementary students to engage with story, characters and emotions. One Great Line brings theatre into 5th grade classrooms.
