Amazing Owls of Iowa with Linn County Conservation

Owls play an important role in the ecosystem of Iowa. Join Linn County Conservation Naturalist Chuck Ungs as we learn about some of the common owls of Iowa.

You will see a variety of mounted owls and learn about what makes them “nature’s perfect mousetraps." View wings and talons, owl pellets, mounts and more. Participants will then learn how to carry on a conversation with an owl by learning the call of the barred owl.
