Event Description

Take time to connect with others in grief and engage the creative spark. Jamie Siela, LISW, and Jackie Koster, BSW, from UnityPoint Hospice facilitate this monthly grief group at Prairiewoods (120 East Boyson Road in Hiawatha) that is open to anyone grieving loss through death. On the second Wednesday of each month, children and the adults who support them are invited to come together in person to explore a different creative art medium. (A similar group for adults is offered on the third Wednesday of each month.) In August, we’ll explore paint splattering to remind us that beautiful things can come from messy beginnings. The final creations can be used as aromatherapy diffusers or simply as decorative discs. Registration is required by noon a week in advance. This in-person group is free and includes all art supplies and dinner. For more information or to register, contact Prairiewoods at www.Prairiewoods.org or 319-395-6700.
