"Kikao" Food & Family Community Gathering--United We March Forward

United We March Forward along with sponsors Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust and Hames Homes invite you to "Kikao" ("Gather") on Sept 21 from 5:30PM-7:30PM at the Groundswell Cafe (201 3rd Avenue SW Cedar Rapids). 

What is Kikao?  Kikao is designed to gather individuals and families from across the Cedar Rapids area to connect and learn. By embracing a variety of cultures and perspectives, we grow. Food and Family is the theme for the September 21 Kikao event, hosted by United We March Forward.

The Food and Family event will include guest speakers who will share some of their favorite recipes, how cooking is a part of their family, and encourage guests to document some of their favorite recipes, as well as embrace new foods that will add to their recipe collection.

In addition to guest speakers, graduates of United We March Forward’s Drivers Education Program will be presented with certificates and recognized for their completion of the series and advancement to obtaining a learning permit. 

Guests will be able to participate in culture-learning activities, enjoy a delicious sampling of food prepared by family chefs (recipes from the US and Africa), and hear from guest family chefs. 

A donation of $15 is suggested in support of United We March Forward. Cash and card is accepted.
