Event Description

Screenings: From 10am-2pm, health screenings will be available outdoors via mobile units.

Discussions: From noon – 3pm, there will be indoor, hourly sessions with themes around sickle cell, prostate cancer, and genetics. Featuring medical and scientific experts as well as personal stories from those impacted.

Resources: Throughout the day, community health resources will be on hand with information about their services.

Sponsors: UnityPoint Health and University of Iowa Health Care

Hosts: African American Museum of Iowa, ImpactLife, Focus on Diabetes, Black Men of Cedar Rapids, W.I.N. (Women in NAACP), and Warrior’s For Life Sickel Cell Awareness.

Registration: This event is free and open to the public. Registrants will receive a complimentary lunch. This event is also CEU eligible.  CEU certification is $15 with registration – simply select the CEU ticket option using link above.
