Event Description
Spring is in the air, and the forest is waking up! Join Jasia Standley of Graceful Bear Wellness at Prairiewoods (120 East Boyson Road in Hiawatha) for a delightful guided nature walk as we explore the woods in search of edible plants. Learn to identify plants like violets and dandelions, discover how valuable many plants commonly known as weeds can be, and enjoy the beauty of nature in full bloom. We'll learn how to spot several edible and medicinal plants in their natural habitat and connect with fellow nature lovers. This will be a great outing for families or individuals! Jasia is an herbalist with over a decade of experience working with medicinal plants. She has studied herbalism from a diverse range of teachers, along with dedicated self-study through numerous books and courses. She is passionate about holistic healing and focuses on treating each person as a unique individual, helping them overcome illness through personalized, plant-based remedies. She offers in-person and virtual consultations and has an online apothecary shop (gracefulbearwellness.com). Jasia lives with her family on a small acreage in Mount Pleasant and enjoys spending time gardening, homeschooling her children, and taking care of the animals on her homestead. There is a suggested donation of $5 for individuals or $10 for families. For more information or to register, contact Prairiewoods at www.Prairiewoods.org or 319-395-6700.
