Event Description
Take time to connect with others in grief and engage the creative spark. Jamie Siela, LISW, and Jackie Koster, BSW, from UnityPoint Hospice facilitate this monthly grief group at Prairiewoods (120 East Boyson Road in Hiawatha) that is open to any adults grieving loss through death. On the third Wednesday of each month, come together in person to explore a different creative art medium. (A similar group for children and the adults who support them is offered on the second Wednesday of each month.) In April, we will blend opportunities for sharing with the creative outlet of diamond art, fostering a sense of connection and healing. Diamond art is a relaxing and creative craft in which you apply tiny, colorful resin rhinestones to a sticky canvas, creating sparkling, mosaic-like images. It's a meditative process that allows for mindfulness and self-expression, making it a popular choice for stress relief and artistic enjoyment. Registration is required by noon a week in advance. This in-person group is free and includes all art supplies. For more information or to register, contact Prairiewoods at www.Prairiewoods.org or 319-395-6700.
