Thursday, July 31, 8:15 a.m.–4 p.m. This summer day of rest and reflection is for the weary, the watching, the ones who hold it all together. If you've been wondering when a summer vacation will come for you, look no further. Come away to Prairiewoods (120 East Boyson Road in Hiawatha) for a day to rest, breathe and reset. Step outside the swirl of summer activities and surrender to a slower rhythm. This is not a day to plan or produce, but to receive—silence, space, sunlight. Let the noise fall away, even if just for a few hours. We'll create space to lay down what we're carrying, sink into silence and nature, be guided in practices of reflection and release, participate in an optional yoga class, sip iced or hot tea, journal, reconnect with our soul and be reminded that we're not alone. This is a quiet invitation to step away from work, family duties, and all the things that summer brings and be unrushed and unrequired. Come as you are. You don’t need to earn this day; you just need to show up. Mothers, fathers, caretakers, burned-out employees and nurturers—we see you. Come get away. This vacation day is for you! Facilitator Leslie Schwarting is a full-time spiritual director and retreat facilitator at Prairiewoods. As a wife, mother of three adult women and former hospital executive, Leslie's journey has led her to profound joy in serving this ministry. Her extensive corporate background, which includes leading large teams, strategic planning, project management and business development, as well as her spiritual direction training, have uniquely prepared her for this role. She finds great fulfillment in supporting others as they seek to deepen their connection to the Divine, themselves and others, and is deeply empathetic to their personal and spiritual growth. The cost of this vacation day is $75 (or add an optional massage for $65 or overnight stay for $50).
