Event Description
In this Creative Class, you’ll learn a technique for marbling paper called Suminagashi. Japanese for “floating ink,” it’s a process where designs are created on the surface of a tray of water before being transferred to paper. It’s intuitive, easy to learn, and relaxing, but produces beautiful results. By the end of the class, you’ll leave with six or more sheets of marbled paper that can used in any paper craft, or enjoyed as artworks on their own. If you’re interested in taking the class, but find ticket price to be a barrier, there are a limited number of spots available for volunteer assistants. Please contact Missa by email at [email protected] or phone: 812-219-6119. You can also stop by her shop at 1301 3rd Street SE. Missa has taught 2D art and paper crafts to a wide range of people, from casual art clubs to college classes. She is the shopkeeper at Tree of Liminality and co-founder of Farmhouse Art Collective.Registration
